How did you get started?
Rossiter: Quite by chance. After emergency back surgery and while recuperating, my son brought me an old easel and some old acrylics and suggested I painted. I had never drawn a straight line till that moment. I did a 'Beginners Course' about a year later and then played around. I joined an ATC club and made and traded over 2000 Artist Trading Cards, over the next few years, giving me the practice and many of the  skills I needed. Then a friend asked me to sell her one of my paintings and I opened my etsy shop. I sold my first piece for $15.
I believe that hard, hard, hard work and always remembering to have fun, are the keys to my success. When the fun stops, so will I.

What is your inspiration?
Rossiter: I was born and lived in South Africa for the first 38 years of my life. The beauty and colour that surrounded me is my inspiration. My art has an 'African' flair.

How do you motivate yourself?
Rossiter: My studio is in my garden, and I work every day 24/7. As soon as I walk into my studio, the juices start to flow. My mind never stops working and whirling, even when I close my eyes to go to sleep, I see images that I'd like to paint.

What is your successful action to stay active as an artist?
Rossiter: Work every day and never be afraid to try new things and take a risk.

What does art mean to you?
Rossiter: Art is my world, my salvation, my inspiration and my joy.
